Jean Ann Lewis, DMD
Certified, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Jean Lewis, DMD
Dr. Lewis grew up in Western Pennsylvania just north of Pittsburgh. One of the many reasons she loves the Eastern Shore of Maryland is that it reminds her of growing up in Western Pennsylvania, a place where community matters and people take care of one another. Dr. Lewis believes as a community member that she is committed to the well-being of her young patients. She loves seeing children grow and become young adults who give back and make a difference. Dr. Lewis also knows how important it is to be an independent dentist in the community. Her clinical decisions are always in the best interest of her patients, your child, and not the best interests of private equity or corporate demand for revenue and profits. While many dental offices are owned by private equity firms, her practice is guided by the needs of the child, your child. Dr. Lewis spends time getting to know your child and genuinely tries to meet your child where they are.
She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. During her dental school, she had wonderful mentors and people who believed in her. After dental school, she completed two years of training at a general practice residency and fellowship in oral cancer that focused on complex medical care. She then completed a two-year residency specializing in pediatric dentistry at Rutgers University of New Jersey. In New Jersey, she found her true love working with children. Dr. Lewis has also studied with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, where she built a strong foundation for integrative health.
Dr. Lewis is and has always been a lifelong learner. She has a long history of contributing to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as a board examiner and has helped to write test questions for her specialty board. Annually, she exceeds the required continuing education courses by 2-3 times. She is committed to holding her office as the gold standard of pediatric dental care. Dr. Lewis will be more than happy to answer any questions about her office, treatment philosophy, or dentistry in general.
Dr. Lewis is a past president of the Eastern Shore Dental Society and was the Chair of the Education committee for the Arizona Dental Association.
